On a Friday afternoon stop @ the LGS, I was fortunate to find 1# of the new CFE Pistol powder.

I was interested in trying CFE & BE-86; as this is the only one available now, here we go

The powder metered well through my Lee Auto-Disk and each charge was within .2g after 10 throws for initial check, weighing each on the electronic scale.

Additionally, I individually weighed each charge for this test. CFE Pistol has about one-third of the static cling compared to Titegroup in the hopper.

Five rounds for each through the work-up progression. Glock 19 unsupported @ 7 yards w/ irons.

No problems cycling the slide with the starting minimum load ~ mild recoil. The Hodgdon Reloading Center had a recipe for the Berry's HBRN-TP 124g specific to this bullet @ www.hodgdon.com.

5.1g of CFE Pistol worked the best out of my G19. Moderate recoil with a solid feel that was comfortable.

This one was probably my error more so than the load. 5.3g felt fine ~ moderate recoil. Barrel was clean and spent brass had minimal carbon residue. I like it for 9MM Luger.

Any chance you would be able to try it suppressed and see how it sounds? I'm looking for a chance l cleaner quieter powder for my 9mm reloading than universal.
Its one powder I've considered and cycling at the minimum load is good. You'll have to see what you can get using a rest.

How much did you pay for it? I passed on some a few weeks back because it was almost $50 for a pound.

My LGS (King Shooters Supply) sold it to me for $23.95 + tax. Recob's has 1# listed for $19.19 + HAZMAT & shipping. Good thing you passed on the other
