Does anyone have any actual experience with the Charles Daly ECS .45 (Officer size in Colt speak)? The price looks good but I've never heard anything about them pro or con.

I don't hae an ecs, but I do have a field model that cycles perfectly. It feels good, looks good inside and out, but my Kimber outshoots it. I don't know what the problem is, I bought it to put a 22lr conversion on. It works great for that. For $300, it is an excellant gun.

Guys, I hate to break it to you, but the days of a $300 CD 1911 are long gone. Everybody's prices are way up, including ours. Thank the collapse in value of the US$ for that.

On the bright side, we got a shipment of EFS (government sized) guns in today and they are beautiful, both in finish, function and accuracy. Prbably the best looking shipment we've ever had from the factory! A shipment of ECS should be in our warehouse in about 2 weeks.

Charles Daly Quality.

I own one that rotates with a Springfield for carry duty. I've got a whole heap of ammo through this thing in the last few years (probably in excess of 12-15 thousand) with nothing but spring changes. I'd buy another. I don't have any experience with the "sawed off" C.D.'s though. Just 5".

I have the blue CS model and its been 100% out of the box. Great gun for the money.

Daly took good care of me when the ambi safety on my EMS broke.

I have a Field CS and it performs flawlessly with the factory mag, but not with certain aftermarket mags (Just like other 1911 makers:scrutiny:). I'm a sucker for blue guns and wood grips and the Field model is a beautiful piece.

Good luck
John
