A year or so ago I was going to do a home rifle build. The action turned out to be a little odd, so I needed some real smith work. I decided to just let a smith do everything; basically I just chickened out on the parking, bedding, … Well, I had a little extra time to tinker over Thanksgiving, had an old sporter savage and enough extra parts laying around to put together a cheap rifle. I already had parking solution, but I never had a SS tank built. I went to the feed store and bought a SS water bucket (the kind you would keep in a kennel) and re-purposed a kitchen fryer thermometer for the project. Blasted the action, bolt body, bolt handle and the rear bolt that holds everything together. Sprayed everything down really good with brake cleaner and used some aluminum electric fence wire to dunk and retrieve the parts. I set the SS bucket on a Coleman camp stove (sitting on the tailgate) and mixed / heated the solution and parked the parts. It worked really well. I had it in my head that I needed some special tank or some special solution for post park oiling; really I just made it out to be a bigger deal than it is. Most everything was already on hand. I bought a bucket for about $10, several cans of brake cleaner and an acraglass gel kit for about $40. Yes the action came out after bedding. 
BTW, the rifle is dog ugly, but I don’t care! Everything looks out of proportion. The barrel is big / long, the stock looks too small (old factory tactical off another rifle). Not mounted yet, the only spare glass I’ve got to put on it is a 90 something bushnell 6-24 (it’s currently covered in rattle can camo and dust).
