I have been looking for info on scopes for better accuracy, but maybe I won't need one after all. With a little practice, I'm getting close to where I want to be with the factory sights on my Ruger Blackhawk.

I've been using .210 Hornady xlp's in my .41, but this morning I loaded up some .210 Hornady bullets (not xlp) that I found for a good price at a gun shop yesterday. I loaded them the same as I had the xlp's at 17.5 grain.

The picture is of my 3 shot group at 90 yards.

Even if no one cares, but I was plumb tickled to death! I just had to brag to somebody. :D

Hey? Wait a minute - does that look like powder burns there?:neener:

Nice group - now the object is to form a clover leaf!

I would brag about that as well. Good shootin' 41 magnum man.
I am going to shoot my new to me .41 Mag Redhawk this Sat. AM. I bet I can't do that. :uhoh:

POWDER BURNS! :cuss: Nah, that isn't powder burns, those are fingerprints where I was holding the paper so I could punch holes with a screwdriver!
:D ;)

Jayhawker, it is only 3 shots, but there is another tear on the paper. I think there was a twig or something behind the paper right there that made the hole.

I went back out this evening and shot 3 more, and I shot a similar group though just a tad larger. The light was fading, and it was really hard to see the target and the sights. This was well before dark, but the sun was setting. I am going to have to do something to make the sights more visible, or put something else on there. I already tried painting the front sight red, black, orange, and yellow, and put two little white dots on the rear sight, one on each side of the groove. But they don't do much in low light. I might have to go with a low magnification scope. Bet I could put all into one bullet hole then! :neener:

Walkalong, I bet you're just being modest. I'm sure you will enjoy shooting your Redhawk. Let us know how you do.
