Hi all, I am new here and reading some of these posts suggests many desire to carry a rather large handgun in the field. The problem with a rather large handgun is how to carry? On your hip will cause you to go lame, a shoulder holster can be a royal pain with a pack back not to mention a long barrel is not very quick on the draw. Since I carry a Taurus .357 with 8.5in barrel I designed my own rig and am wondering if there would be anyone interested in having one themselves.

It was originally designed as a chest harness and without any other modification I am able to use it as a shoulder carry as well as a cross draw. All 3 methods carry the weight very well and I hardly notice it. This is such a relief from the previous method I used which was tactical.

The current design is nylon with adjustable straps to fit most any size person. If there is a desire for it I could make one of leather.

I will be selling these for $60 each. As these are custom made I can alter in any way you desire.

Check out more pics here http://s616.photobucket.com/albums/tt241/Salla101/Chest Harness/

Please give me your input.

Thanks!

Salla

Ok .... I need vertical UNDER arm shoulder holster for my 5 1/2 Redhawk

Leather, nice and THIN

Most of the stuff I find are either THICK or not really practical at all.

What do you think?

Art:
I have no relationship with the link I posted. I have bought several of their products over the past couple of years; they have been good quality and somewhat unique in their application.

I only wanted to make others aware of this option.

I am not trying to sell anything per say. I was more looking for input from other gun owners. It seems few if any have any comments they are willing to share.

If gun owners want a better product they have to speak up and be heard otherwise deal with the stuff that is available, as limited as it is.

Thanks for the link DBR, I have never seen that before.

The one criticism I have is that the holster opens down in the picture you have shown. If the retention strap comes undone, the gun may fall out.

MrCleanOK,
It is suppose to open that way. A long barrel gun is difficult to draw upward from the middle of your chest and clear the holster. If a person would rather have the holster situated with handle up then that is no problem and easy to alter before stitching.

Would you care to explain? most absurd crap is a pretty broad and random statement negligent of any intelligent criticism. If you don't like something in particular then mention it. If you just don't like the design because you're a tactical kind of guy then perhaps it is best that you kept your comment short.

Thanks for sharing your ideas with the rest of us. I admire the people that take their ideas and try to incorporate them into products that many people can use. While I don't have a need for such a holster I think it looks great for what you intend to use it for. I'm sure some readers will be able to give you some good suggestions and just ignore the sarcastic comments from people who have nothing to offer. Constructive criticism is good and can improve on ideas. Good luck and I hope you are successful in developing your product.
