I just purchased a Browning BPS, used, for a young friend. It has a turkey choke with it. I'm not really a knowledgeable shotgun man. First off, what is a turkey choke? And if I wanted to set him up with a set of chokes that would give him what he needs for all around shotgun hunting what should I get him. Thanks very much.

A Turkey choke is an extra tight Full choke.
Not much good for anything else, and cannot/must not be used with steel shot loads.

Get him a set of three new tubes.
IC, or Improved Cylinder.
MOD, or Modified.
And FULL.

IC & MOD can handle steel shot.
FULL cannot.

IC & MOD will be the most useful.
FULL, not so much unless he gets into trap shooting or something.

All current BPS use the Invector-Plus choke tube.

A turkey choke is typically constricted tighter than the normal "full" for extended range at turkey hunting.
All around shotgunning is a wide open term, but if you are including clay targets, small upland like dove, quail, rabbits, up to larger upland like pheasant and then waterfowl, IC, LM, M and IM would be more than enough for all those applications.
