Age 21

This would be around 1976 for me.

I have near $1 million in value of mdse, and I have to deliver this in a bad, bad, part of town.
I am running solo, as I often did, still I was to meet a Marine.
I mean a serious Marine, and do not speak ill of Vietnam, God, Country, Duty or Honor.

I am wearing a faded Field Jacket with a peace sign and "Keep on Trucking".
Long Hair, Pony Tail and I am cussing LBJ, the War and being a disgrunted Vet!
Truck is a rag-tag thing, with bailing wire keeping the tail pipe from falling off.

Marine, he too, is sporting long hair, Roach Clip , clipped to his Field Jacket and and we are in the bad part of town and Seedy, Evil Folks "accept" we are seedy and evil too.

Guns were Bone stock Gov't Model of 1911 with hardball, and stuck in waistbands.
I carried a Case Slimline Trapper with CV blades and he carried a Case Mako Shark in a belt sheath.
We also both had a Sears Roebuck Screwdriver stuck in a back pocket.

Street folks use screwdrivers, and these do not cut the user as occurs with edged weapons, they are easy to drop, toss into dumpsters and "blend in"

~~

To blend in with Illegal Dog fights, I stuck a .22 snub nose revolver in my back pocket.
.22s being the preferred choice of these "gentleman" and if someone does not pay a gambling dept, Popiletal gets popped [Shoot the knee].
Hunting accident happen ya know with .22s...so sayth the owee at the ERs....

My "EDC" to assist on who in the hell shot one of my folks, and who had the Mdse.

A C note has a neat flame it does when you light one to light Cigars around a table...

EDC-
Access, Investigate, Verify, Improvise, Adapt, Overcome.

Survival is the key, and each person and set of situations demands one think out of the box and for themselves.

My stuff is all legitimate, and Mentors & Elders were doing business this way, long before FedEx, UPS, and other modern advances.

How raised- what you do.
