Chrono choices?

ProChrono Digital and Pro Chrono Pal will read most 9mm and .45 at a distance of about 3'
Thing with a larger muzzle blast need to be farther away.

Had a ProChrono Pal and upgraded. Very few err when reading shots with it.

Note From above post, flashlights didn't work for some others. (not evebody else)

A barrel mounted chrono might be a little less risky when breaking in a new competition trigger, I found that out.

We need a thread with pictures explaining why.:)

Just picked up my Caldwell from Cabels, couldn't get to a range to test it, so set up in the back yard and took my kids Nerf gun and ran some darts over it, the app is great. Except for that little hiccup of having to to turn on the microphone (oops) to get it to read the projectiles. Who knew a nerf dart at 2 ft could be doing 24 mph :)

I think the ultimate chrony is the LabRadar! $600 seems like a very reasonable price to not have to deal with light screens and to be able to take multiple speed readings ove the entire flight path of the bullet! I wish I could justify buying one.

I use the Caldewll kit that came with the Led light screens and tripod. The tripod is cheap but works. The Caldwell works well after I learned to set it back several feet to clear the muzzle blast. I could not get the Caldewell talk to my Galaxy Note 4 but it talks to my Galaxy Note 12.2 without a problem. I love being able to collect the velocity stats on my tablet! I didn't use a nerf gun to test the Caldwell before going to the range but Ican tell you that my daughter will yell when hit by a rubber band flying 70fps or faster.

Happy with Competition Electronics Pro Chrono Digital. Have DIY usb cable connected to tablet or the software. Eventually I'll go bluetooth but too lazy and cheap to get the parts when a 50' stereo extension cable cost $4 and I already had the other components.
