Hello:

Can anyone recommend a magazine that focuses primarily on classic firearms, say from the 1880s through the 1980s when plastic started to take over? I'm envisioning something that would cover the collectible hunting, self defense, and military guns from the blued steel and walnut era, as well as really obscure guns no one has heard of.

I'm looking for something new to subscribe to and it seems alot of the magazines focus primarily on new products, which aren't very interesting to me.

Thanks

Well if you're looking for guns from the 1880s and earlier there's Guns of the Old West. Good articles, nice photo spreads, and you definitely won't find any mention of polymer pistols anywhere inside.

+1 to Man at Arms.

In addition to that, if shotguns are your bag, the Double Gun Journal and The Shooting Sportsman tend to focus on wood and steel guns versus over plastic-fantastic firearms. If NFA items float your boat, the Small Arms Review covers older guns, along with new items.
