Cleaning Glocks

Just picked up a couple of cans of brake cleaner at Wal-Mart this afternoon, @ $1.63 per can. Says "Non-Chlorinated" in big letters right on the front of the can.

when I was at Wally World I grabbed some WD-40 because I couldn't verify the brake cleaner they had was non-chlorinated, and the WD-40 was on sale. I have used it once to spray out the insides of the Glock, and seemed to work OK. Wally World had a great sale in Win-Clean ammo, 5 bucks a box for 9mm....I shot a box and it worked well...interesting bullet design.

What parts are you cleaning with brake cleaner/gunscrubber? I also thought they made a gunscrubber that was plastic safe.

I only use the brake cleaner for spraying out the slide, primarily when I'm cleaning out the firing pin and extractor channels. Some also use it on the plastic frames, but I don't.

I wouldn't use WD-40 on any firearm that I own, particularly not for blasting out the firing pin channel of a Glock.
