Cleaning question?

Just bought a new 870 Express Turkey gun (21” barrel) and will use it primarily for a HD gun. Normally when I bring a new gun home I strip it completely and clean and lube it with BreakFree. My question is; do I really need to clean a gun internally that will sit out in the open ready for use day in and day out? Would just wiping it down occasionally be enough? Thanks…Gary O <><

Follow the instructions with the weapon to the letter, Gary. Then go run a couple hundred rounds through it. If it functions perfectly, then clean it and post it.

I would never trust my life to a firearm that I haven't used until it feels like a body part.

I advocate a deep clean once a year for guns not used much and every 500 to 1000 rounds for those that are. HD weapons are not usually high use, but once a year is a good idea.
