Regardless, the chances of it happening are slim to none.
Manufactures have to design, develop, and sell shotguns that appeal to the widest range of shooters possible in order to sell enough guns to stay in business.
Since hunters comprise the largest group of shotgun buyers, and many hunters hunt waterfowl, they are limited to three shots.
One in the chamber, and two in the magazine.
A 4 or 6 shot tube magazine can be easily plugged to hold two shells in about a minute or less.
But an en-block clip would have to be specially made to hold only two shells, and then others made to hold more.
And the receiver made big, heavy, & fugly enough to hold the ones with more.
Not something I can see anyone doing if they want to sell guns and stay in business. Especially since the most successful shotguns today were designed & perfected many years ago with tube magazines.
