Some of you know that Georgia probate judges have simply been refusing to issue temporary renewal licenses to renewal applicants in spite of the plain wording of a statute requiring them to do so.

Thanks to Georgiacarry.org, Cobb County has now issued a temporary license to a plaintiff in a lawsuit brought by Georgiacarry.org. In addition, they issued a license to another GCO member today. The Cobb County Probate Court also confirms by telephone that they will issue temporary licenses to renewal applicants!

Woot! :D

I think I'll forward all the court documentation and a brief synopsis to my probate judge in DeKalb.

Hell, I might as well go talk to her in person... they did respond to my complaint about them giving me the run around and offered to talk to me in person, as well as issuing my permit in person. :D Mine wasn't a temporary license renewal problem... it was that they blamed the post office for a possible 4 month delay.

Georgia is going to make progress if we have to personally visit every legislator, judge and voter in the state. :cuss:

Next is the 'public gathering' law I hope... at least that's what I'VE been writing about.

I remember yours. I am not laughing at you, but with you, as you have to admit it was pretty funny when they told you the post office was having a problem with courthouse mailings and was delaying all papers from the courthouse for up to six months!

:D

The 60 day time limit in the state statute is being litigated right now. It is currently in the Georgia Court of Appeals.

There is a link right on this forum!
