At the gunstore I work at sometimes, we had a "Colt Commanding Officer's Model." It is a series 80 full size frame with a Officers ACP slide more or less. It's actually slightly longer than the Officer's ACP but shorter than a Commander. I have heard that only a few were manufactured and distributed by Lew Horton back in 1990. Anyone else have any info on this piece? I think it was priced around $600 which seems reasonable to me.

I seem to recall that there were only 250 of these made. What kind of condition is it in? It's worth the $600 if it's decent.

I prefer the full size, but I convinced a friend of mine to get it. Otherwise, I would have had to. It's in great shape, has smooth Colt panel grips. 250 made? Thanks!

There were several similar variants from parts bin engineering; to include the Lieutenant Commander and Night Commander that I recall. I just can't see paying a speculator's price for one unless it was EXACTLY what I wanted.
