To blue or not to blue??? That is the question?

In great working order, not apeared to have been fired much. I got it at a fair price.

Looks like it was fired very little, so the gun is very crisp and tight, but someone along the way put it away wet and salty and caused some major finish issues on the left side of the gun. Assuming it was holster worn by someone sweaty. Or put in a damp case or drawer on its left side because finish corrosion is very assymetrical. Then someone took the rust off with some sandpaper.

All the damage seems very shallow, and im assuming not a ton ton of polishing would be needed to get it smooth enough to re hot blue and make pretty again.

Any thoughts? Idea of what that would cost to be done by a pro? 16158633534293837992997504525331.jpg 16158633966532708370963111292970.jpg

Ford's did a wonderful job re-nickeling my S&W 1st model Hand Ejector. Expect turn-around time to be months, not weeks.
Absolutely. I own a 4th change hand ejector from 1916, and the hand fit and finish and tightness is bar none. I wonder if i could consider nickel finishing this gun?

I probably wouldn't spend the money on a refinish. I would rub a little cold blue on it, add a Tyler T grip and carry the gun with pride.
