So I'm looking at my next BP revolver purchase to be a bit smaller than my 1860 army, and I was casting my eye on the little Colt Pocket Navy. Who sells them and where can I get the best price? Are they good pistols? Also, where could I find a decent leather shoulder holster for them that won't send me to the poorhouse?

Dixie Gun Works and Texas Jacks (texasjacks.com) have them at comparable prices - about $250. Although I bought the only Uberti Texas Jacks had in stock a couple of weeks ago. They still had the Cimmaron model, but it is about $30 higher. It is a handsome little pistol, but haven't shot it yet.

If I can find a pattern, I am going to make a shoulder holster for mine and see how it works. It will probably be a while before I get to it though.

I made and dovetailed a tall front sight on this pocket navy. I saddle stitched and lined this holster to fit--it protects the gun and covers the hammer.
