I hope someone can help point me in the right direction. I'm curious about the value for a Colt Single Action Army revolver. The serial number is in the 33xxx range, 4 3/4 in barrel. 45 LC.

Any thoughts on how to get it valued?

Thanks!

Bushmaster gets you started but with a serial like that, I would presume it is a first generation.

If I am correct, then the first thing I would do write to Colt and get one of their letters. Last I heard, $200. No collector will give top dollar without one.

Then I would contact an appraiser and get it appraised. Some first generations go for $2000 up to $10,000, depending on condition, model and it's history.

Not a simple matter but well worth while.

Now if the serial has a SA before or after it, then this isn't needed, unless you want. This means that the gun is either second or third generation

Good luck

That serial number dates the gun to 1877, assuming there is no 'SA' after the serial number.
I suggest you post some good pics in the firearms research subforum for a better answer.
