Colt Tenon?

Got an early Series 80: Can anyone tell me whether it takes a narrow or wide tenon front sight?

It should be a wide one. Strip the slide off and remove the barrel and bushing. Then go out into good light, turn the slide upside down, and you should be able to see the tenon, which is rivited in place..

Thanks Old Fuff. You're the man. Its the Colt in the pic in the above thread by Tuner fixin the Commander. I've had it blued and the front sight taken out as I was gonna replace it with something more to my liking. I'm got a Ghost Ring on one of my Norks and like it a lot. Prob gonna put the same on the Colt. Works well with my old eyes. I also like a "V" shaped rear with a single white bar with white bar front but can't find any that seem tall enough to see the bar good enuf.
