Well I see Colt has finally updated their web site. And they list the 10mm Delta Elite again.:) I was wondering if they are shipping them yet and has anyone bought one of the new offering.
Also I've heard that they had a military contract sunset and will be making more consumer guns now, maybe the Python will return?

Cheers,

Gungle George

They've been shipping the Delta's again for several months now. There are usually a dozen or so listed on the various auction sites. I've also seen them at local shows, and even one of my local stores has one in stock.

I think the site has been changed for several weeks.

I like it; the other one was much less 'consumer' friendly.

I can only hope Colt begins making DA revolvers again; S&W, and their prices, need some competition.

I'd love to see them make a DA revolver again, but I don't think it will happen. They would pretty much have to completely tool up-new everything.

I dunno - Colt built it before and they didn't come. At least they didn't come in sufficient numbers with sufficient cash.

RIP, Colt's DA revolvers.

I saw a new Delta Elite in a store recently.

I too would love a new Cold DA (Anaconda please).

I'm not sure I would buy one. I love Colts don't get me wrong. But
When they got their gov. contract back they pretty much turned their backs on us. they still built the AR and the 1911 but that's about it.

As for the revolvers, when they stopped it was when everyone had to have a small Auto and no one was selling revolvers well. I personally bought several and was hoping to see them design a good DAO or striker fired pistol. The 2000 wasn't it.

Then all of a sudden, poof, most everything was gone. Take care of the government and leave all those civilians who kept them going between contracts hanging out in the breeze.

VERY long overdue. Thanks for the notice.

Now they just need to update their 1911 line. :neener:

But seriously, frontstrap checkering, beavertail grip safeties, and Novak sights are now considered standard.

And doesn't the new Delta Elite have a plastic trigger?

Some of us don't want that nonsense on our 1911s.

I've never had hammer bite and I've got pretty big hands.

I see well enough to fly..so I don't need extravagant sights.

Front strap checkering...never shot one with, but don't find myself wishing for more grip on the front..works fine for me.

I applaud Colt for continueing to make a classic configuration 1911. I do wish they'd ditch the series 80 all together though..but that's a minor gripe on my part..afterall I own one :)

I don't know timkr38. It's still been easy for me to get a Colt handgun where I live.

But I would love it if Colt began making double action revolvers again.

Maybe with all the new interest in concealed carry Colt might start again?

Probably not but I can hope can't I? :)
