Another current thread about electronic earmuffs got me off my duff to ask a question that's been nagging for a while.

I like my hearing and protect it by using foam earplugs with the highest available Noise Reduction Rating. I like my vision and protect it by wearing Oakley polycarbonate lenses.

I know I could do my hearing one better--and have the added benefit of sensitivity to environmental noises (like human speech!)--by wearing electronic earmuffs over my plugs; but I've never found a comfortable way to combine earmuffs and eye protection. It's certainly not going to happen with my Oakleys, which stick way out there and prevent muffs from fitting EITHER comfortably OR effectively.

What ways have you found to make the marriage of earmuffs and eye protection work? Is there a particular eyeglass that fits comfortably under your earmuffs? Is there a special earmuff that somehow accommodates eyeware especially well?

Thanks for your ideas and experience!
