I saw the pointer to this from Free Republic this post:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/922684/posts

It lead to a Yahoo Group this post:

And that pointed to this website:

Whatever you think, it is good info for thought.

COMMUNIST GOALS
(From The Congressional Record, Jan. 10, 1963)
1. U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic
war.
2. U.S. willingness to capitulate in preference to engaging in
atomic war.
3. Develop the illusion that total disarmament by the United States
would be a demonstration of moral strength.
4. Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist
affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for
war.
5. Extension of long-term loans to Russia and Soviet satellites.
6. Provide American aid to all nations regardless of Communist
domination.
7. Grant recognition of Red China. Admission of Red China to the
U.N.
8. Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the U.N.
9. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If it's charter
is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government
with its own independent armed forces.
10. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American
institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.
11. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts
forsocialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the
curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party
line in textbooks.
12. Gain control of all student newspapers.
13. Use student riots to ferment public protests against programs or
organizations which are under Communist attack.
14. Infiltrate the Press.
15. Gain control of key positions in radio, T.V., and motion
pictures.
16. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of
artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told
to "eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings,
substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms.
17. Control art critics and directors of art museums. "Our plan is
to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art.
18. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling
them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press.
19. Break down culture standards of morality by promoting
pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures,
radio, and T.V.
20. Present homosexuality, degeneracy, and promiscuity, as "normal,
natural, healthy."
21. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion
with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need
for intellectual maturity which does not need a "religious crutch."
22. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the
schools on the ground that it violates the principle of "separation
of church and state."
23. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate,
old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to
cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.
24. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish
aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man."
25. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over
any part of the cultural education, social agencies, welfare
programs, mental health clinics, etc.
26. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social
agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders
which no one but psychiatrist can understand or treat.
27. Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws
as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose
Communist goals.
28. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity
and easy divorce.

(Hen. A.S. Herlong, Jr. of Florida in H.R., Congressional Record-
Appendix, Jan. 10, 1963, pp. a34-35)
Look through the above list again and count the number of goals
which have been accomplished in this nation since 1963.
COMMUNIST GOALS (from The Communist Manifesto written by Karl Marx
and Friedrich Engels in 1848.)
"The theory of the Communists may be summed up in the single phrase:
Abolition of private property." (page 82)
"In bourgeois society, therefore, the past dominates the present; in
communist society, the present dominates the past. In bourgeois
society capital is independent and has individuality, while the
living person is dependent and has no individuality.
"And the abolition of this state of things is called by the
bourgeoisie, abolition of individuality and freedom! And rightly so.
The abolition of bourgeois individuality, bourgeois independence,
and bourgeois freedom is
undoubtedly aimed at." (page 84) "You reproach us with intending to
do away with your property. Precisely
so; that is just what we intend." (page 85)
". . . the middle-class owner of property. This person must, indeed,
be swept out ofthe way, and made impossible." (pages 85-86)
"Abolition of the family!" (page 87)
"The Communists are further reproached with desiring to abolish
countries and nationality." (page 90)
"Communism abolishes eternal truths, it abolishes all religion, and
all morality."(page 92)
"Communists everywhere support every revolutionary movement against
the existing social and political order of things " (page 116)
Goals of Communism (page 94)
1. Abolition of property in land and application of all rents of
land to public purposes.
2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.
3. Abolition of all right of inheritance.
4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.
5. Centralization of credit in the hands of the state, by means of
a national bank with state capital and an exclusive monopoly.
6. Centralization of the means of communication and transport in
the hands of the state.
7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by
the state; the bringing into cultivation of wastelands, and the
improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.
8. Equal liability of all to labor. Establishment of industrial
armies, especially for agriculture.
9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries;
gradual abolition of the distinction between town and country, by a
more equable distribution of the population over the country.
10. Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of
children's factory labor in its present form. Combination of
education with industrial production, etc., etc.
(Note: the above pages reflect the paperback version, 14th printing,
April 1976)

I couldn't find an original source of this on the links you gave. (OK, I didn't go to the Yahoo source, because it wanted to set a cookie.) Can you save me the trouble of lookinng it up? "Congressional Record" doesn't really say anything. Where did the list supposedly come from?

The reason I ask is it seems pretty far fetched. The "Communists" were hardly a unified voice in 1963. How could
5. Extension of long-term loans to Russia and Soviet satellites.
And
8. Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the U.N.

Smells fishy to me....

Current Communist Goals

EXTENSION OF REMARKS OF HON. A. S. HERLONG, JR. OF FLORIDA

IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

Thursday, January 10, 1963

Mr. HERLONG. Mr. Speaker, Mrs. Patricia Nordman of De Land, Fla., is an ardent and articulate opponent of communism, and until recently published the De Land Courier, which she dedicated to the purpose of alerting the public to the dangers of communism in America.

At Mrs. Nordman's request, I include in the RECORD, under unanimous consent, the following "Current Communist Goals," which she identifies as an excerpt from "The Naked Communist," by Cleon Skousen:

The entry in the Congressional Record is from a woman ostensibly quoting from "The Naked Communist," by Cleon Skousen." This Skousen was supposedly an FBI agent. I have run several searches and am unable to find any original source material from him. I'm with Malone that this whole thing smells fishy. Skousen was with the FBI during the Hoover era when they were seeing a commie behind every tree and denying the existence of organized crime. IOW, failing some really good documentation on Skousen's part, I am going to find this commie list of goals every bit as credible as "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion." Just 'cause he was with the FBI is not enough reason to accept this list as factual.

Malone,

I don't know what makes you say the Communists were hardly a unified voice in 1963.

The Cold War was in full swing then.

The Communists had been a unified voice since the close of WWII. Overt action has never been their style. Instead they cloak themselves in things like Time magazine and give themselves "legitimacy" in the eyes of those who won't look deeper.

If you like to read get a copy of Whittaker Chambers book "Witness".

I am not a radical but I have never understood what is so unpopular about being a full fledged American. So many today seem to have capitulated to some or a lot of the goals of this entry to the Congressional record of 1963.

Just 'cause he was with the FBI is not enough reason to accept this list as factual.
Pretty good reason to not believe it, given the documented failures and excesses of Hoover's FBI.

This probably isn't going to have much influence on someone who believes Time Magazine is communist, but it wasn't long after 1963 that the Soviets were supporting the Vietnamese, who the Chinese regarded as a long-term irritant in Indochina. Chinese and Soviet relations had deteriorated enough by 1958 that China expelled the Soviets and were having border disputes over Mongolia.

W. Cleon Skousen authored a 1958 book titled, "The Naked Communist."

That is the source of the list.

I am constantly surprised to hear the kind of skepticism that you express Malone. You are not, of course, alone. But I would suggest you have not begun to do your home work and instead are probably one of those people that think McCarthy was in fact a kook.

To each his own.

I disagree with Malone's stance on nearly everything.
But in this case I'd be inclined to agree with him.
That list reads like J. Edgar Hoover's personal pet-peeve list.

And McCarthy was a kook. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that he had more in common with the Communists he was trying to root out than he did with any person who truly loves individual liberty.

:barf:

Regardless of who wrote/created/fabricated that list, I'd say it's a pretty good list of the problems that have occured in the western world (not just the U.S.) in the last 50 years.

Afterall do you think the increase in leftist philosiphy that has occured in formerly conservative nations is nothing more than a coincedence?

How could the U.S., Britian, Australia, Canada, New Zealand all have undergone such a dramatic change in each nations politics and societal opinion in a very similar timeframe, if it wasn't due to a conserted effort by someone to subvert and undermine those formerly conservative nations?

Well, Krushchev said that if a Red flag ever flew over the US, the citizens would be the ones to raise it....

That's exactly it. Infiltrate, subvert, undermine, influence and then divide and conquer.

Afterall what's that one saying - ' the Democrats are taking the U.S. down the road to socialism at 110mph, while the Republicans are taking the U.S. down the road to socialism at 55mph.'

Because once people realize that they can vote themselves other people's money, they will. This is the biggest and most obvious failing of democracy.

Speed Limit!

Deadman. I like your speed to oblivion analogy. I use one that is similar but airborne. When I get to ravin' and wavin' my paws around at Happy Hour I like to tell my Demo. friends that the Reps. are taking us down at this rate. Then I dive one hand like a plane coming down. They smile. Then I say that the Demos. are taking us down at "this rate" and I dive my imaginary plane a lot more steeply.

Luckily, everyone has been too drunk to land a solid punch so I still do it. In fact I did it last night. That's how come I got home early.

Seriously, we are in deep deep trouble.

d'Tocqueville [sp?] said something to the effect that it would take men of courage and character to make our constitution work. That was back in the early days of the republic. Now we have Dems of no character and Reps of no courage running the show. How long before the theater is going to burn down??

Tyranny is the "natural" form of government because it requires no character on the part of the "leaders" and demands no courage on the part of the "led." Best of all, no one has to think or worry about the course of things because thought and comment are capital crimes in such a system. About 99% of the liberals I know would fit right into this type of system with no adjustments needed. They are gutless non-thinkers who ridicule anyone who can think of who defends such "out-dated hogwash" as the Bill Of Rights.

God, how I hate them. They are termites doing more to destroy the nation than Hitlary is because there are more of them and they are ceaseless in their efforts. At least Hitlary pauses at times to gloat as with her present "book" deal.

Maybe we need a new kind of Bug Zapper!

Because once people realize that they can vote themselves other people's money, they will. This is the biggest and most obvious failing of democracy.

A failing of democracy is one thing, a concerted effort to 'socialise' the formerly conservative western world is another.

Ann Coulters release of "Treason" plus a serious release of previously undisclosed documents from the government show us that McCarthy was not the "kook" that the liberals (and communists) have tried to paint him as over the years.

If you want a first hand account of the FDR years read "Witness" by Whittaker Chambers. Some of it is a bit dry, but some of it will chill your bones. And yes, Time Magazine was thick with communists writers posing then, as many do today, as Journalists.

This is an excerpt from a Newsmax review of the book:

WASHINGTON – "Historians" have lied to Americans for decades about the threat from this nation’s enemies.
Ann Coulter's new book, “Treason,†sums up the mountains of misinformation shoveled out to Americans for decades. Ideologues disguised as historians have consistently covered up treason with their “No enemies on the left†mentality, as Coulter clearly shows.

Much of her research is backed up in the five-volume release to the public, for the first time, of the closed-door hearings by the McCarthy Senate committee 50 years ago. They were made public last month after “Treason†had gone to the printer. Put the book and the hearings together, and you have the damning evidence.

“History†tells us that Sen. Joseph R. McCarthy, R-Wis., “did not discover a single Communist anywhere.â€

“History†in this case lies. Coulter identifies Soviet operatives named by McCarthy. NewsMax.com has reviewed the 80-page McCarthy segment of Coulter’s book and hundreds of pages of the newly disclosed hearings. The record backs up her charges in spades.

Among the Soviet operatives in government jobs who were named by McCarthy, Coulter informs us, were T.A. Bisson, Mary Jane Keeney, Cedric Belfrage, Solomon Adler, Franz Neumann, Leonard Mins, Gustavo Duran and William Remington. From this sample list (the author mentions many others), let us look at a small part of the hearings record.

Leonard Mins had contracted to write manuals for the armed forces. In that pursuit, he handled sensitive material. “Oh, yes, much of it was classified,†he told Sen. McCarthy’s committee. He had also worked for the OSS, the predecessor to the Central Intelligence Agency.

Mins pleaded the Fifth Amendfment when asked if he were a member of the Communist Party, either at the time he was working for the government or at the moment of the hearing; whether he had discussed classified material with a member of the Communist Party or turned any of it over to an espionage agent; whether he had engaged in espionage or illegal Communist activity; whether he had been on the payroll of Soviet military intelligence, either at the time he prepared the pamphlet or when working for the OSS; whether he attended the Lenin School of sabotage and espionage; and whether he believed in the overthrow of the United States by force and violence.

Cedric Belfrage, also mentioned by Coulter, had worked under Army occupation officers. In that capacity, he had been instrumental in setting up newspapers in Germany after World War II. Before the McCarthy committee, he pleaded the Fifth on whether he had been a Communist then or at the time of the hearing; whether he advocated overthrow of the U.S. or British government (he was a British citizen) by force or violence; whether he would fight in the U.S. or British Army if “drafted†to fight Communist aggressors.

Mins even took the Fifth when asked by McCarthy if he had gained his government jobs in part by using as references Federal Power Commission Chairman Leland Olds - the consummate New Dealer - and CBS newsman Quincy Howe.

These are just samples of what the McCarthy committee uncovered. Ann Coulter's “Treason†and the newly released hearing transcripts dash to smithereens “History’s†falsehood that McCarthy did not nail treason within government.

A classic example of historical distortion emerged when the hearings surfaced. A Senate “historian†on May 5 put his own spin on the newly revealed McCarthy hearings before others had a chance to see them.

Associate Senate historian Donald Ritchie, in his “Editor’s Note,†quotes one committee witness, William Marx Mandel (who had taken the Fifth Amendment when asked about his Communist affiliations) as publicly declaring McCarthy “murdered†a prospective witness, Ray Kaplan, an alleged suicide.

Ritchie doesn’t bother to inform researchers that Kaplan was expected to be a friendly committee witness, eager to tell McCarthy of his frustration that some with whom he worked had placed a Voice of America transmitter in such a way as to prevent VOA from reaching the freedom-loving people behind the Iron Curtain, thus rendering it useless.

Nor does this “historian†add that some of Kaplan’s colleagues told McCarthy afterward that they suspected Kaplan’s “suicide†actually resulted from foul play. Nor is Mandel’s credibility questioned, even though behind closed doors he had openly threatened to give the committee a pubic-relations black eye.

Coulter sums it up: “History is an endless process of liberal brainwashing.â€

let that be a lesson to anyone who says the LP needs to have a candidate win the white house to be taken seriously. :p

that said, it seems a good idea to study their methods. Ya can't argue with success...

Coltdriver...

... You nailed it.

McCarthy may not have been a "nice" person and he's said to have been a drunk.

But he was quite correct in saying that the State Dept., other government agencies and other institutions were quite infiltrated by communists.

And look at the results.

I don't know if we can turn things around. The young are brain-washed and dumbed down.

The media including movies and TV peddle a socialist value system and they are even more influential than the schools.

The sheeple want something for nothing.

Who will turn things around?

Sorry, but I don't feel optimistic at the moment.
