wyohome: "I have relatives in Stanwood, NavyLCDR, and Washington does not honor Wyoming permits."

Get yourself a UT permit. WA will recognize that, as will several other states.
You'll have to take a one day class for the UT permit. If interested you can websearch instructors who offer the class in your area.

There are two paths to get a CCW here in RI. The AG is may issue at the state level, and has been known to turn down many people. Some do get their permits, but after spending some $$ in legal fees, and some I suppose just put some convincing stuff in their applications. I know of a couple of people who said that they help people with their AG permit applications and have a good success rate. At the local level, the Chief of Police is shall issue... but not all Chiefs follow the law. Depending on what town you live in, you may or may not have a hassle getting your permit. The Chief in my town does not like to issue. It took me 18 months fighting thru the BS, threatening legal action, letter writing, phone calls, etc. but I finally got my town permit (which is good to carry throughout the state.)

Here in NY I have had my CCW since 1968. No renewal. It was good for life or until revoked. Our wonderful governor in 2013 passed the Safe Act. Now I have to renew every 5 years and it will probably be restricted to range, hunting and trapping as the NY permits in my county have recently been. To purchase ANY ammo, 22LR, shotgun etc. background check per purchase!!!!!

For my FL out of state CCW I had to take a 1 day course, fingerprints and I think $35 fee.

Card arrived in 60 days.
