Just wondering if other CO residents are worried that the new Democratic majorities will start tinkering with the CCW laws. The local preemption of the state CCW law is one issue that comes to mind.

I have not heard any buzz about anything, but will be on the lookout for any news at the gun show in Denver this weekend.

If you're one of our friends here who cast a quixotic vote for a third party, you might be in for a bitter dose of reality.

Although I sympathize with some of the libertarian views (though not all), I voted a straight Republican ticket except one local contest between a D and a L where I voted for the L.

The Dems seem like they will try to strike fast. On Nov 4 a Judge ruled that Denver could preempt state law and prohibit guns in cars within the reach of occupants. Only CCW holders are exempt (for now). Denver will be back at it seizing (and selling) the vehicles of offenders.

I sincerely doubt it's an accident that the Denver judge ruled in favor of Denver's leftist extremists after the election rather than before.

Frankly, the ruling strikes me as being rather like Saddam Hussein declaring his innocence since after all, he's the top poobah of Iraq.

That ruling definitely needs to be appealed to a court whose judges are intelligent enough to understand Colorado's home rule law.

Any word on which "Judge" this was? Patterson by chance? :cuss: I guess its time to once again plan my routes AROUND Denver and not spend anymore of my money there. Glad my town now has a decent Sushi joint.

I don't have a link to the story. I saw the clipped article at the Firearms Coalition of Colorado booth at the gun show today. I think it was from the Nov 5 Denver Post. The Colorado AG has an obligation to appeal the ruling since it conflicts with Colorado State statutes. I hope Bill Owens appoints someone with a spine to replace Ken Salazar!

How did Colorado become such a liberal state? They used to be one of the most conservative in the Union.

It's in the beginning of the thread, viz., they elected a bunch of Democrats to office. That's what we freaking keep telling people: DO NOT VOTE THE RATS IN AND THEN WHINE BECAUSE GUBMENT IS GOING TO TAKE AWAY YOUR GUNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHEN WILL PEOPLE WAKE UP!
