I've been considering buying my first Kahr, a P9. I held one a while back and absolutely loved the way it felt in my hand. I've also considered a PF9 because of Keltecs warranty service. Does anyone here have experience firsthand with the Kahr P9?
I tried the PM9 but it was way to small for my big retarded hands. The P9 just felt right in my hands. How's their durability? Finish , dependability? Are they worth the money they ask?
Thanks

I have both... The PM9 and the PF9

My wife carries a PM9 and I carry the PF9.

my PF9 has had 2600 rounds thru it and has performed flawlessly. it is unpleasant to shoot --kicks like a beast...but its a CCW gun -- u shouldn't shoot it often...its not a range gun. it is not selective on ammo

The PM9 is smooth...doesn't kick as bad... it is selective on ammo. i have a CT laser on it.

really up to your budget... my PF9 was $249.... my wife's pm9 was close to retail....

But don't buy into.... "if my life is on the line it's worth the money to buy the more expensive brand"... like i said my $249 PF9 has performed flawlessly.

If money is no object then get a R9....

I have a P9 that I bought used. It has proved reliable and accurate. The size and weight are perfect for concealed carry. I prefer the P9 over the CW9 as a carry gun because the P9 comes in black, has a polygonal barrel, and I can put the sights of my choice on the gun, (the CW is very limited in this respect).

Holsters are plentiful. The gun handles +P ammo if that's your desire. It can be carried either 7+1 or 8+1 with extended mags. I'm a Kahr fan and have enjoyed them.

I like to use a grip sleeve with my polymer Kahrs. These improve the grip in several ways IMHO.

Here's my used P9, which I've carried now for about 6 months. It replaced a HK P2000sk... tough shoes to fill. With good night sights and a good holster, it makes an awesome CCW.

I have the budget version of the P9...the CW9, but I have the same hat

The Kahr is very accurate and the trigger was even smoother than i expected...it has replaced my S&W M642 as my EDC/go everywhere gun. Not a single bobble in several hundred rounds. I'm carrying mine with Ranger 124gr +P+

I have fired the PF9 and didn't mind it. But the Kahr P9 seems to be the perfect size and the fit is what I really loved about it. I usually carry a SP101 when wearing regular pants with belted holster but sometimes I just run to the store in sweat pants and that little beast really wants to pull my sweatpants off.
The local gunstores seem to have quite a few used ones for sale at about $400 to $460.
Is this a good price range for used P9,s in black.

I'd say so, yes. I paid $475 for mine that had night sights and came with a sack full of magazines. Put a new recoil spring in it, $8, and you should be good to go.

I carry my Kahr PM-9 and also shoot my Kahr T-9. Both are excellent pistols. Buy the Kahr model which fits your hands and intended use and never look back.

Can't go wrong. Better than a 5 shot revolver, nothing against them, just my opinion. quick to reload. light to carry. I've got the black stainless model, and it goes everywhere with me.

I own 2 Kahr pistols. The CW9 and the CW45. They are both very reliable and carry well. I outfitted the CW9 with a CT laser which eliminates the sight issue for me. I didn't have a problem with the stock sights though.

This will be my every where carry. It just seems to be the perfect size and the gun is goergous. Slim and not to big.
This will also be my SP101,s buddy.
