I recently posted looking into the number of people who might be using IMR4064 for the 6.5 Swede. I know slower powders have been the way to go for years but this was for S@#t's and giggles. So I have worked up from 36 grains in half grain increments to 39.5...no pressure signs (as a matter of fact I am getting soot swirls on the brass as a sign of low pressure?) and velocity around 2555 fps with 140gr hornadys. I was amazed by the single digit SD with this powder compared to the average for RL22. Im talking like a 6 for 4064 compared to 15-20 fps difference for RL22 and accuracy was about even.
For some reason I did not expect the "old warhorse" IMR powder to better the younger, hipper, better coated blah, blah, blah RL22...I If I end up not finding 4064 suitable I am really considering IMR 4350 to try next and see if the numbers are there as well. Any care to toss their 2 cents in the ring and enlighten me as to your experiences if any with this cartridge and/or the use of IMR4350.
Thanks
Chris
