I've been thinking. You know what I think would be a very cool, if not entirely practical, revolver to own?

Take the gas-seal system of the Model 1895 Nagant revolver, and modernize it. It has proven itself tough enough for field use, but some work would be required to give it a halfway decent trigger pull. Put this system into a roughly L-frame sized gun, chambered in .357 Magnum, with a 7-shot, swing-out cylinder. Make the frame in the fashion of the Rugers, lacking sideplates and easily disassembled.

Give it a 4" barrel, and adjustable sights. The barrel should be threaded at the end to accept suppressors; the gas-sealing cylinder would make effective suppression possible.

Finally, for suppressed use, develop a special subsonic .357 Magnum cartridge. 200 grain bullet at about 1050 feet per second.

As I said, impractical, but I'd buy one! :D

Knock up a prototype and I'll test it for ya!!:p

Seriously - I think as with all possible and potentially useful notions ... cost is always the deciding factor ..... and this I fear would be mega expensive. The principle could work ... sure, but then too you have to remember what else is available that could in part at least serve the purpose.

Not really all that relevant but .. way back in 60's was it .. early 70's .. a movie with Angie Dickinson, maybe too Ronnie Regan .. starred Lee Marvin .. he was a hit man and I remember well him using a 38 revo ... with a can on the end the size of a dog food can .... and each shot it went ''phoot!'' (or was it ''Phoop!'' ) ... and the victim dropped like a sack of potatoes. :p

Always did find that really comical ..... looked great tho - of course.

Movies ban cylinder gaps ya know!! :D

I would like to see NAA come up with a .32 ACP in their little single actions.
I don't know how practical it would be as a carry gun but it would be cool.

And if you went with an N frame with that gun you would be able to have an 8 shot. :D

While we're pipe dreamin'...

How about a top break, along the lines of a Webley MKVI or the S&W .44 Frontier DA, but with improved metallurgy to handle the .45 Super in moon clips?
