Cor-Bon Self-Defense Ammunition 7.62x39mm Russian 125 Grain Jacketed Hollow Point $43.00 for a box of 20. Cor-Bon Self-Defense Ammunition 7.62x39mm Sure there are other sites to buy this but things are getting any better. Wolf 7.62 x 39 $11.00 a box of 20. Has anyone shot any Cor-Bon????

CorBon makes excellent self defense ammo. I know one very very knowledgable individual who uses nothing but CorBon DPX in all his self defense firearms. I don't, but I have limited funds - I have Wolf for 7.62x39mm. :)

I changed out my Corbons for Double Taps in my 10mm. They list your rifle round, but can't get to the information about it.

Here is the advantage of the DT's 10mm over CorBon.
Double Tap JHP: 155gr. @ 1475fps / 750ft/lbs
CorBon JHP: 150gr @1325fps / 585ftlbs

DT wins by 5gr.,150fps and 160ft/lbs

If they do the same thing for the x39 you might have a better defensive round, cheaper.

You might want to consider Federal's Power Shok 123gr soft point. Muzzle Energy is listed at 1445 ft lbs and Muzzle Velocity at 2300 fps. Feeds and shoots well out of both of my AKs. It goes for around $30 per box of 20 last time I checked.

Update: The Sportsman's Guide has this ammo for $21 a box. I think I'm gonna get some more!

For self defense??

I have 30 rounds of Wolf soft point loaded on my converted Saiga.

I'm pretty sure that THAT will get the job done, unless I have 10 BG's to deal with, then I have another set of problems, and that's way beyond ammo selection. Personally, I wouldn't waste my money.

3 hits per man of ANY 7.62x39 ammo should do the trick! Or are you planning on MISSING? ;)

I keep my AK loaded with Wolf 124 Gr HP. I have never had a problem with any wolf ammo. Corbon is great stuff but a little over priced if you ask me.

If my name is Donald Trump, CorBon Is all I would shoot.
Otherwise, forget it...outrageous prices an everything they make.
I shoot an M1 carbine, and the price is similar for their carbine ammo. For that much, the weapon should aim itself, dig the perp's grave, and mix me a post shooting rum and coke.
