I just got some of that 8mm turk ammo that everyone has been raving about for my 98. It looks good; but i picked a few strippers full of 8mm out of one of the bandoliers.. They all had at least one round with a cracked neck, bad enough that I could just pull the bullets right out by hand.. These rounds are unsafe to fire, correct?

Im going to be getting into reloading soon here, should i keep the bullets and toss the cracked brass/powder?

keep the bullets, if for nothing else than that they are uber-cool! dump the brass, keep the powder. not to reload with, but to burn off.

i used a soda can cut in half, filled it up with powder, and set it on fire. whooooo hoooooooo the flames go high!!!!! and bright! i burned off about a 1/2 lb in another tub, those flames must've been 15-20 feet high and lasted a good 10 seconds before slowly fizzling out.

so i took the rest of the powder, nearly another 1/2 lb and poured it down a two inch line, about 5 feet or so. didnt burn as fast as i thought, but it did 'walk' its way down the line.

Yeah I once burned a nice huge spot in my old natty rug testing home made fuse burn rates. My parents werent as pissed off as I thought they would be.
