These are my two current varmint rigs for crows & the like.

The rifle is a Remington 700 smithed by Gordy Gritters, chambered in 6mm Ackley Improved.

The pistol is a Savage Stricker, chambered in 22-250. The only modifications were [trigger worked] by Gritters. It has a Burris 2 to 7 powere scope with thier "plex" reticle.

A session at the range 2 weeks ago with this pistol proved itself. With handloads of Winchester brass, CCI br#2 primers, Hornaday 52 grain BTHP over 38.0 grains of H-380 = shot a 7/8 inch group at @ 100 yards.

This load Chronographed right at 3100 fps out of a ss 15 inch barrel with the screens @ 10 feet from the muzzel.

Varget & VV135 should work well with bullet in the 52 thru 55 grain weights.

In my rifle a 58 grain Hornaday V-max with 47.5 grains of Varget using CCI a BR#2 primers, Remington brass. This load chronyed at 4000fps.

Crows are the riflemans target of choice. The "one shot one kill" was never more true when it comes to these wary & smart winged ones.

What's your favorite varmint hunting rig???

Got pictures??? = show me.
