Has anyone built themselves a short barreled custom Ruger Single Six?
I have a standard model 6 1/2" revolver but always wanted to shorten it to about 4 in and use the WMR cylinder as it's primary one. I bet it'd make a nice carrying, self protection gun. Yes the caliber is a bit light but it's at least as powerfull as the anemic .32 Autos so popular today...

I love my Single Sixes,..both of them,....and am pretty partial to the .22 magnum round for a lot of things,..up to and including self defense, .....if that is what I happen to have on me should the need arise,....

But I think I'd look around for a 4 5/8s inch Single Six in .22 Mag, or maybe .32 H&R Magnum in that length, (called a Baby Vaquero),... before I'd cut down that 6 1/2 incher,....and that's not even considering the validity of,..or lack thereof,... in carrying a single action four inch .22 magnum as a SD carry gun.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Ummmm.....I apologize for the thread derailing and know that this might be debatable, but I'm not under the impression that .32acp is all that popular as an SD round. The .380 has really come into its own as a pocket gun caliber with guns like the LCP, P380, P238, P3AT, and diamondback, it seems like the .380 has really eclipsed the .32 as the pocket gun flavor of the month.

Been threatening to for several years but haven't got around to it yet. IMHO, the world is a better place with more custom Single Sixes in it. Ruger does have a new short barrelled fixed sight model on the market.
