I fly quite frequently with my gun checked in a pelican case, they are built like iron, but dont dent like metal.

I have to give another +1 to kalispell cases. They are made near here and they are strong. I have seen people jump up and down on them, back trucks over them, and generally abuse them without anything more than cosmetic damage. They are also the cases that Tom Knapp carries all his shotguns in.
