Anyone own or have experience with the CZ model 527 Carbine in 7.62x39 caliber. I am seriously considering purchasing one for next deer season. I've found one used for $400, but my regular dealer will get me a new one for $468. I like the idea of getting another rifle in this caliber and from what I've read, it is okay for deer out to about 200 yards. The rifle looks to be of very good quality, but I would like to hear from anyone who owns or has used one. Thanks, Doug

I have on in 223. I like mine, it is well made and the wood stock is very nicely finished. The metal is nicely blued and very smooth, there is no tooling marks that I have seen.

I have a Leupold 3X9 on mine and it is very accurate.

I really like the set trigger on the CZ 527, it's very light and really helps with getting good groups.

I think the 7.62 version would be a great deer rifle, they are very lightweight and you could carry this rifle all day without getting tired.

Gunblast has a great article on the 527 in 7.62 so check it out.

I have handled a few and shot one. I like them, everything cableman said at a price where it has no equal.
