The FS 550 has been catching my interest. I am looking for a bolt action rifle chambered in .308, with GOOD iron sights and the FS or full stock model fits the bill. How does the stock hold up, or the sights. Are the sights accurate enough for shots out to 150 yards? The purpose would be for range and plinking, and maybe hunting if I ever get back into it. Thanks

From what I've seen on the 527 (small centerfire) and 452 (rimfire), the sights are pretty dang good. My favorite of course are the ladder type sights on my 452 LUX ZKM which are adjustable from 25 to 200 yards, and fully adjustable to zero for any type of ammo. The 527 irons I've seen took a little getting used to, only in the sense that they were different than what I was used to. Think of a wide "V" in the back, I mean really wide, with a little round knotch for the front sight post. They are high up to go with the stock, they are at the same height that you would look through a scope at, so they aren't low on the rifle, but still very comfortable. I haven't actually shot any open sighted 527's, only scoped, but my 452 ZKM shoots amazing, and I really love the sights.
