There is something about watching your boy plink away with a 22lr pistol, even if it belongs to somebody else. He really liked that CZ-75 Kadet pistol, with the fake suppressor and ‘scope. This was about 4 months.
Well, I can’t get the fake suppressor or the ‘scope right now, but we can certainly get a Kadet Kit! I had one before, tragically lost it, real estate deal, but now I had the opportunity to rectify the situation!
I decided to put this one on a P-01, specifically, My P-01. But first, it had to be fitted. CZ Kadet Kit adapters have to fit a wide variety of CZ pistols, so in some dimensions they are made slightly oversize, to allow for hand fitting. I turned mine over to a good local gunsmith friend of mine, seen here shooting the assembled product.
My camera battery was low on juice this range trip, so my pictures are sparse. I can say that LAGS was pulling his hair out – the little Kadet Kit adapter was turning in better groups than his Ruger MK II target pistol. He fit the adapter on well, but ran into a problem – the slide would not stay back. I experienced the same issue, as the slide could be manually locked back on an empty magazine, but would not hold open, nor would it stay locked back when the mag was removed. This drove us both nuts until MUCH later when I was discovered I need the CZ 75 PCR slidestop for the P-01 to work perfectly. One is now on the way.
In the meantime, I did get to shoot some groups, and discovered the little gun could shoot quite well.
When the new slidestop comes in, I’ll try it again, and betcha we get even better results! What a neat little Kit!
