I had a chance to compare these two guns today at an indoor shooting range. I only shot about 30-40 rounds per gun, but here's some thoughts:

CZ 75B:

- great balance, feels really good at hand
- grip is a bit slippery in the front & back straps, no checkering
- double action trigger is beyond my finger length to operate
- single action trigger is sweet, and was ok to operate with my small hands - not perfect though
- fairly accurate
- soft recoil
- worked 100% reliably

In short, I liked it a lot. Great gun.

Walther P99 QA:

- noticably light
- good balance
- grip feels thin and good, except the hump on the backstrap (which can be changed)
- trigger was quite far, and not at all suitable for my small hands
- trigger was also quite heavy, which is good, considering it's a service gun (not that good in target shooting).
- trigger break much clearer than Glock's s-p-r-o-o-i-i-i-n-g.
- slide did not stay back after last round
- slide also closed once when inserted mag
- my groupings sucked because of the trigger reach and weight

I liked it also a lot, and if I had bigger mitts, would consider this one too. The slide open/close problems is a minus.

It was fun to get to know both of these guns a bit.

I liked the CZ so much, that I might actually go and buy one :)

Agreed, the CZ75 is a very comfortable pistol but before you buy one go find a Tanfoglio Witness in whatever caliber you shoot. Better finish work, better trigger and a lot less money. Bought my Witness 10MM in wonder finish (translate the "Wonder Finish to Tenifer which is one hell of a durable finish) and it only set me back $375 new in box. This is a winner in every way except size and weight. I have to wear heavy clothing to conceal it and suspenders to keep up my pants. Sure makes a great game gun for IPSC and IDPA as well as being nice and easy to grab out of the bedside table.

The P99 has a very long slide release and if you have a high grip you have to watch your thumb to not ride it. I like the TDA version of the P99, glad to hear the QA was acceptable too.
