I just picked one up on a whim - i have really been wanting a CZ for a while and I found this one in near mint condition for a good price. I cant find any reviews so if you have one please let me know what you think. Im going to use it for HD not carry, for now at least.

Edit: It's actually a CZ 75b SA. To my knowledge the 85 doesn't come in Single Action. My error.

It is the same as the 75SA with ambi controls. Great gun. No worries.
 
I have a CZ85 Combat. It is one of the most accurate guns I have ever fired. Mine is nickle plated and I have Marschal zebra wood grips on it. It can be concealed as easily as a 1911. I have shot ~1000rds with no issues whatsoever. I hope you enjoy yours.
 
Thanks for the feedback on the CZ. I actually can't pick it up until Sunday. When I do I will post some pictures.
 
If that 'whim' you speak of ever passes, let me know and I'll buy the CZ-85 SA from you. Please keep everything that it came with in the box for me.
 
Bought and used as a range gun, as I am a DA carry kind of guy. But I would happily carry it if SAO were the only thing allowed (what a strange world that would be).
 
Picked up the 75b this morning and oddly it has the ambi safety. In any case i love the grip...totally different than anything else i have tried.
 
Generally, only the 75B in Stainless, and the 75B SA guns have ambi safeties. Is that the case with your gun, or have they expanded the models with ambi-safeties?

The 85 series has ambi controls, as do a couple of the unusual compact models. (CZ made a few 85 Compacts, a few years back, and then changed the model names; you may stumble across a couple of oddball models with ambi-controls, too.)
 
You are correct it is actually a 75b SA and it is ambi. for a big gun with all metal construction it balances perfectly for me.
 
Have a 75B SA. It is a great gun. Whenever I carry a full sized pistol, it's the one I use. I use it at the range, and in our club defense pistol matches. I've had it for years, I have no idea how many rounds have been through it.
