I've recently started shooting indoor 22 cal. Bullseye and now want to start shooting the 2700 competition and would like to use a 97 B for my large bore pistol. As anyone used this pistol for this match and what has your experience been, good or bad? Really need some help on this one, don't know whether to go with a 1911 clone or the CZ. The 1911 does have the big edge as far as accessories goes, but is the CZ a better pistol to begin with? Please give your opinions?

The CZ is indeed a nicely built firearm.

However, the 1911 has a long history as being the main .45 used to shoot 2700 matches. There's a huge amount of knowledge with regard to gunsmithing, hand loading, and accessories for getting the best performance out of a 1911. The CZ is a question mark.

So it's not so much a matter of whether the CZ is a good choice or not, but whether you want to go with the flow, or experiment with something new.

I personally only know of one guy who shoots a non-1911 .45, and he uses a Pardini GT 45.
