The dagger has been a symbol of prestige and martial professionalism since the Bronze Age, and spans nearly every culture and continent in human history. I have been fascinated by daggers for a while now but as they serve little utility beyond combative or ceremonial purposes, was never able to cough up the dough.
I've had a love affair with a CRKT M21, which is my current EDC, for about five years. During this time I have considered myself an advocated of Columbia River Knife and Tool and have bought two of them as gifts (an M16 for my sis and another M21 for a friend of mine). A friend of mine showed knew I was interested in daggers and showed me I could get a CRKT Sangrador from Midway for $70, which is about half of MSRP. I jumped on it, figuratively, of course.
It has a 5.5 inch SK5 blade, double-edge, of course. It came wicked sharp. It is light and nimble in the hand, and I love the G10 Micarta grips. I am not crazy about the serrations, but don't mind if they are kept to a min because they do help cutting certain materials. "Sangrador" is apparently Latin for "bleeder," BTW.
Anybody else have a "thing" for daggers?
