(This message and links below, was sent to me from Peaceable Texans for Firearms and I thought the Dallas voters may want to check it out)

Dallas gun owners need to take notice that your elected Mayor, Laura
Miller, is pushing the anti-gun agenda by spending your tax dollars to
attend New York Mayor Bloomberg's propoganda stunt, "Mayors Meeting." You
probably heard about it in the news this week. She met up in NY with a
dozen other liberal, mostly East Coast, Mayors to propagandize for more gun
control.

Her webpage proudly proclaims her participation here:
http://www.dallascityhall.com/html/mayor.html. Her press release appears
here: http://www.dallascityhall.com/pdf/mcc/Guns.pdf.

Dallas voters, you need to note this about your mayor, and spred the word
among all your Dallas friends who care about keeping their gun rights.

Indeed, all gun owners *must* thoroughly vet local politicians better to
discover their politics. These types often use city office as a stepping
stone to run for higher office later. We need to stop their politic
careers at this level. All politicians need to learn that being anti-gun
is not good for their political careers.

A NY Times article appears here:

Just read the PDF and it's all a lot of hot air & waffle; the question remains - how do they define "illegal gun"?

Fairly close minded way to think imo. So by that logic all us in the NE have nothing better to do then send unwanted anti's to other states and mess with your politics. Why is it then the good people of Dallas were duped? Say it isn't so.
Would then that be like a state such as NY with enough senceless voters to elect, or excuse me import a state senator from a southern state. No way she could be an anti, right?

Laura Miller is a moron. I no longer live in Dallas, but close to it and until recently, did work there. I think her first official act after getting elected set the tone for things. She went out and helped pick up garbage with road crews. It seems, however, they start early and finish early, so when she set up her time to "help" them collect garbage, everyone in the crew was working overtime. You see, she had no understanding of the interworkings of the roadcrews, schedules, or pay. He first act was over budget.

She has continually done things that are embarrassing. In interviews of police chiefs, her comments showed how little she understood about law enforcement. Now this. Holy cow.

Dear Andy:

You asked "how do they define "illegal gun"?

These traitors to the U.S. Constitution, and our Representative Republic, define it as "Any firearm owned by any citizen whatsoever, other than a S.W.A.T. team member under their direct control, their personal body guard, themselves, or a very close personal friend of theirs".

That is how they view it.

[Why do y'all keep electing this moron?... /QUOTE]

She's lost the police and fire vote. She's lost the African American vote, I don't know about the hispanic vote and the white vote seems split at best........she is NOT a strong candidate an only wins because there are no strong candidates in Dallas.

The only good thing she's done is to fire Terrel Bolton....I almost bust out loud laughing when he was all cryin' on T.V. about injustice done to him................never mind he was a racist, never mind he fired everyone in admin upon making chief, never mind the sheet rock powder/drug scandal pulled on hispanics who don't speak english and some being in jail for up to 2 years by the time the truth came out.....

but we were talking about Miller weren't we? You think she's messed up? You should see the city council.:what:

I live in a suburb north of Dallas, and I find it surprising that the people of Dallas even voted for Miller. Granted, the others running weren't anything to brag about. Most people knew where she stood on most issues- a flaming liberal- and voted for her anyway. It makes me realize just how nice the 'burbs are.

never mind he fired everyone in admin upon making chief
Oh, you wouldn't believe... My father retired from DPD as a deputy chief in... I believe 1994. (Dig up the tapes of Wrathburn and Click getting their badges. That bald guy with a moustache pinning it on them is my father) It wasn't the fact that Bolton demoted all of dad's peers to sergeant that ticked me off (although it didn't help). It was the triple promotion of a "racially approprate" command staff that included a few nameless folks who failed the Lt. test five times. I didn't think you could take it that many times.

I wouldn't give Miller any credit for firing Bolton. DPD has been bleeding experienced officers, making horrible equipment purchase decisions, and just generally cratering since Billy Prince left. Read up on just why Prince resigned, and you'll have the whole story of Dallas politics since the mid-80s. This happless fool Kunkle doesn't know what he's getting into. I would love to join DPD, but as it stands now, I have to head for one of the suburban departments because Dallas is just that messed up.

Oh, and read up on just what Ron Kirk was doing before he was elected mayor. It will explain everything. I'll give you a hint: it starts with "L" and ends with "obbyist."
