Say gang, I have a Dan Wesson Lit' Dan 738P .38 Special revolver.

Does anyone know how many were made? Seems to me not many but I see no production numbers anywhere!

Thanks

Lucky guy. I've never even seen one in person. I know they're rare little guns and don't turn up very often. I can't tell you how many were made, maybe over on the Dan Wesson forum someone can help you... What I do know (I think) is they're Palmer guns made briefly from 1992-1993.

There is an actual Dan Wesson forum website, very informative. I am a member there although I haven't visited in a year or so, got into b/p pistols in a big way. Palmer made guns, I do know vary widely in quality, but good news is all DW's parts for similar models were interchangeable, so parts can be found or ordered from the DW division of CZ. I've owned DW's since the early 70's and still consider them the most accurate out of the box of any mass produced revolver.

Does that 738p have a fixed barrel? I thought that they did but I can't remember now.

I'm guessing the guys on the DW forum won't even be able to give you answer but its worth a shot.

Totally agree.

The Lil’ Dan model 38P (blue) or 738P (stainless) is a 5-shot +P rated .38 Special revolver that weighed 25 oz. It was only made in Palmer during parts of 1992 and 1993. It came with a 2" barrel that was not removable like it’s bigger cousins. Production numbers for all Dan Wesson models of that time period are difficult (if not impossible) to determine due to the shakeup and relocation of the company.
There are several Lil' Dan owners on the Dan Wesson website.
