dan wesson pointman 2 minor

Bumming around a pawnshop today and they had a Dan Wesson Pointman 2 minor.

It's a .45 auto I hear was made before CZ got ahold of DW.

Now it's blue finish, kind of dusty and a bit of rust at some corners and has a Kimber mag (of all things.) It also has awful Pachmyr rubber grips.

Missing rear sight and one grip screw also missing (so it may also have a bunged up grip screw bushing for all I know.) Has the old 1911 tunnel extractor to.

Now they want $799 (yes I know it's a bozo price but.. I got a S&W 2 1/2 66-1 Combat Magnum from them for $545, tax included after they went down from $649, without tax!

So I could talk them down due to the missing rear sight (looks like a Novak cut) and grip screws.

So... would $500 be a good price to dicker them down to?

I'd probably pay $500, if all it needed was a rear sight, gripd and grip screws. As long as the rust was easy to fix.

I saw so many various prices on gunsamerica and others that I had doubts.

Now I hear they are not so hot.. entry level guns. Oh well...

The Pointman isn't an entry level 1911.

It is a mid-range 1911 comparable to a Springfield Armory TRP
