Date of manufacture

Hi, I'm new to this forum. I was hoping someone could tell me when my S&W M19-4 was made. The serial # is 68K0xx. I would appreciate any information you
could give.

Looks like your "K" frame model 19-4 was mfg in 1980.
It should still have a pinned barrel & counter bored cylinder which is desirable in the World of S&W collectors.
I've had several model 19's and they have all been great shooters including the snub nosed versions.
The model 19 is the Blued version of the model 66 which is identical to the 19 other than being stainless.

Thanks for the info. jeff, Actually, I gave this revolver to my niece as a gift and I wanted to provide her with some background on it .She's not really a fan of semi-autos, so I thought this gun would be the perfect house gun for her. Also gave the condition that she's not allowed to trade nor sell it unless it's to me( ha,ha).
