Dealing with a Jerk

Dialing 911 may take a while to get help.
Dialing 1911 takes but a second to get help.

You SHOULD have filed charges. That way any further idiocy on his part could not be turned to you being aggressive towards him, but would be shown he had a history. I'm glad nothing bad came of this.

If you can get in touch with him and sit down and have a rational conversation (it doesn't sound like this moron is capable of that, though) then more power to you. I would personally avoid the guy, and would have filed charges so that it was known HE was the instigator. Besides, I believe the police could have filed a False accusation charge, that would have been a lot of help if the guy ever DID try to attack you...

Some areas have the dreaded recording from 911.

"We're sorry, all of our agents are busy. Your call will be answered in the order it was recieved; please stay on the line for the next availible agent."

A very few times in my life have I seen someone go off like this.

I was at an acquiantance's house one New Year's Eve, and they were lighting off bottle rockets. A lady across the road sticks her head out the window and starts screaming about rockets landing on her roof. A couple minutes later an SUV roars up, screaches to a stop blocking the driveway, and this guy jumps out screaming and cussing incoherently, making threats and swinging his arms.
I'm guessing they were on drugs or something.

This is not mature, adult behavior. This is a jerk who never grew up, throwing a temper tantrum. The best bet is to avoid them, and notify the police if need be.

I used to get upset when I would run across these type of people, but they really don't get to me any more. Something a friend said really sticks in my mind:

The world is full of jerks. If you let them get to you and make you mad, they will make your life as miserable as theirs.
