decapping pin question RCBS

I broke the decapping pin in my RCBS. 45 acp die. I have RCBS dies in other calibers.
.270 win
.308 win
And. 300 winmag

Will the pin out of one of these dies work till I can get some shipped to me?

If the pins are of the same design, they should interchange.

Over the years, RCBS has used a couple of different designs.

► I do believe it will. Generally, most die makers use the same pin for rifle and pistol.

► Look in the die box again. Several die makers include a spare pin with new die sets.

► RCBS CS has supplied me with replacement pins before. If you go this route, be sure and ask for 4 or 5 so you won't have to call back next week.

► Some die makers hold the cup in place with LocTite, so unscrewing the pin-holding cup may take some effort, but it's a common RH thread.

That's what I was thinking. Guess I just take one out and put it in the. 45 and see if it will work.

Thanks. I will. I switched the pins out of a .308 set and it works just fine.

If it's a straight pin I've used a cut-down 1/16" drill bit in a pinch.

You were right. I emailed RCBS Sunday night and I recieved an email back from them today .They said they would send me some spares under warranty.

The only issue I've ever had with their CS is sometimes nobody answers the phone, and sometimes they get behind on E-mails.

I just fire and forget an e-mail and whatever I ask for shows up.
