Ok I have an FNX tactical and I love it. But don't really shoot it that often. I've had my eye on a CZ Scorpion Evo for a while. And considering I'm in the middle of an AR build my wife would kill me if I bought another gun. I had someone offer a straight up trade for a NIB evo with folding brace and trigger job. Should I do it?

Keep what you already have and just tell your wife that you're going to buy an AR and that there's not going to be any discussion about it. You've made up your mind and that's that. It'll be fine. Good luck!

New in box does not equal trigger job. I'd be very concerned that it was done right, and is safe.

If the trigger seems like it was done correctly, go for it. Why keep something you don’t shoot when you can get something you will shoot.

Agree with this. Without looking at current prices the trade seems pretty fair with the folding brace and trigger if done right or was an upgraded trigger from a manufacturer

I personally don't get too worked up over trades if they are close and I am trading something I don't want for something I do. I have made trades that favored the other guy and I am perfectly fine with that if it is something I want and will use.

Buy what you want
Hide it for a bit
Then when she sees and asks when you got it, you just say, "oh baby, this old thing. I've had it forever"

If it's what you want and the trade seems to be decent enough (add in the fact that you're not shooting the FNX Tactical that much), I would say go for it.

What's your purpose----HD, CCW, range toy?
Does your cash flow allow for another gun at this time?
Why don't you shoot the FNX and whats you think the EVO would be any better?

You say you're in the middle of an AR? Why not finish it first, rather than getting distracted with learning a new pistol?
I'll bet you already know the more prudent course.

No.

This. It depends on how much disparity there is, but usually trades, even slightly lopsided ones, work out better for both parties than trying to involve currency sales and stay dead even on the dollars.

I’d rather have the fnx especially if you got a suppressor. But I wanted the fde fnx with the osprey 45 for years but ended up getting a aac tirant with a matching aac Remington 1911. The scorpion is kinda cool and I was looking into it but there is a lot I like better.

Also personally I don’t pay for accessories so I would see a 700 gun vs a 1000 gun.

I am much the same. I have made a few trades where technically the other guy got the better deal but I traded a gun I dont use for exactly what I was going to buy with the money anyway.

The difference in cost wasnt enough to cry about so I just traded with a smile and got to shooting my new gun.

It's never a good idea to lie to your spouse. Volunteering info is kind of a gray area, but if she asks, fess up.

Since you love the FN, just be patient and save for the CZ.
