I've seen laws in Ky that it can't have a magazine capable of holding more than ten rounds. If this is the case can u still load more than 3 rounds in it? In other words if I use a ten round mag can it be loaded to full capacity?

Re-read your DNR rules. They spell out what`s..what. If you can`t figure it out, give them a call. Beats guessing.

Are you mixing Federal Migratory Waterfowl hunting rules with deer hunting?

Only three round capacity limit I know is on migratory birds.
OH has a 3 round limit for deer hunting. That's 3 total, i.e., two in the mag and one in the chamber.

KY rules are 3 rounds for shotgun for anything other than deer. For deer it's a higher number but I can't remember what that number is. 10 sounds right but don't take that as the gospel. I know it's at least 7 because that's what I put in my 336.

Ky has recently had the pamphlet PDF on the internet. Look it up. It's KDFWR if you need the letters.
