I had someone tell me that "trapping" isint hunting,, It's just setting a trap on the ground and hoping something will walk into it, I asked him how much "prep" time he spent getting ready for deer-season, to which he estimated "about 8-10 hours" checking the area to be hunted and another 5-8 hours "practicing" with shotgun.
So when i told him about all the time i spend every year walking the woods,looking for burrows or signs of prey,and then "prepping" the area, which includes taking ice-cream buckets into the woods and filling them with the native-soil and hiding them so i have good dirt to work-with for my foot-holds, to trimming back that damm invasive buckthorn so i dont rip my clothes off trying to set my snare's.
I would estimate it averages about 3-hours a week ALL YEAR LONG....
Now, is that hunting ?? YES i think so
