I recently reloaded some 7.62x39 cases. On the sides of about 20 of them were dents from being ejected from someone else's AK type rifle. The dents were right in the middle of the side, maybe only a milimeter deep, if that, and a few milimeters wide. Almost more of an imprint than a dent. Would you shoot them or not? I'm using 31.0 grains of H335 w/ 125 grain sierra pro-hunters, and a pretty decent crimp w/ a Lee crimper. I'll be shooting it in stock Yugo SKS. I can put pictures up if i can figure out how to do it on here. I've never posted any pictures on this website.

Thanks,
Hoopie

My Romanian AK47 WASR-10 and AKM-Pistol do that too. They look like a small finger nail imprint on the side/middle of the case. They will fire form out when you shoot them.

You think that is bad you should see what an HK91/G3 does to brass. The flutes in the chamber put 3-4mm wide grooves the whole length of the case walls and some how during ejection the neck mouth gets dinged 1/4 closed.

Heed what Reloader Fred said. My best advice is if it lookes scary recycle it. Brass is not cheep but is replaceable. Not Eyes, Fingers, Hands, etc. etc.

A friend had a Galil and would throw the brass away. He said that they were really dented. I told him to bring me some and Iwould look at them, I did his loading for him. I resized and reloaded them. They had a slight ding on the side, but functioned fine. AK's ,other Communist Bloc arms and clones are designed to toss the brass as not to jam or give away where they were fired from.
