i want to buy a used kel tec P-3AT .380 and i know the newest ones have some changes from the old ones but not sure what they are other then extractors. looking for advice on what to look for... thanks

The newer ones have stronger/stouter slides. That's the big difference.

If the extractor is bolted on, it's newer one.

New ones have Frankenstein bolt on the extractor and slide more square Look for a new one Why buy a used one, New in my area is about 260. Used means you won't have the lifetime warranty.

This is the 2ndGEN.

The gen2 guns are very slightly (like 1/2oz or so) heavier, too. It's the extra meat on the slide. My wife and I had gen1 guns. I went to a PF-9, but she prefers her P3AT.

i have the limited edition with laser . Like that laser so much will put a CT on my snub nose 38
I wold like to ask clipper if he could state the increase in recoil between the 380 and 9 mm Kel tec in terms of %, ten % more. 50% more etc.

kt

i have a 32; 380; pf9; p11; p40;to me the 32 weekest, 380 and 9's are simular, the 40 is a real hand cannon...the thrust to weight ratio on kt's push the envelope....gpr

thanks gpr.. debating if i want to sell my 380 only had it a few days. Simply reason. 380 means one more caliber to reload. get tired of changing dies, powder setting and so forth.

If the CT from the 380 would fit the 9 mm kel tec .Could justify keeping, but sadly the 380 takes a CT 430 and the pf 9 ct435

there is a BIG difference carrying 32/380 than bumping up to a pf9/p11...i find my self doing that pocket pat to see if it's even there...not the case for 9mm.... something to do if you have over sized cargo pockets....keep your 380...one saving grace with kt is they cheap enough to have more than one, just remember these are not burn up ammo range guns....gpr
