"Differing shoulder pressures more likely the answer to the vertical stringing. "

Walkalong posted this in another thread. I'm not understanding what differing shoulder pressure is referring to. Can anyone help me out?
Thanks,

He's referring to shoulder position. If the position of the shoulder is set back the brass has to expands out fill the chamber before max pressure is reached. With a properly placed shoulder this is minimized, so it obtains pressure quickly. We are talking about micro/nano seconds here.

Test it out at the range. Fire a couple of shots with hard shoulder pressure, then a couple with light shoulder pressure. The ones with light shoulder pressure will print higher. Consistent shoulder pressure/recoil control of the rifle is critical to vertical stringing.

Dunno about the pressure thing. :)

Yes, that stock design does when shooting off of a front rest and rear bag.

Regular tapered stocks not so much. Can really can hurt yourself vertically if you are not consistent.
